Breaking Olympics 2024
The Breaking Olympics competition started at La Concorde on Friday (9 August) as Paris 2024 busted a powerful rhyme for the 17 B-Girls eyeing a place on the podium.
The B-Girls and B-Boys replied with authority any doubts about how the spectators and viewers around the world would react to this new sport on the Olympic stage.
There was no shortage of fans or noise as decibel levels reached a maximum with rapper extraordinaire Snoop Dogg lighting up the arena by performing the opening brigadier ceremony.
India of the Netherlands and Talash of the Refugee Olympic Team kicked off the pre-qualifier at the famous landmark this afternoon. India triumphed 3-0. It has been four years since the dancing sport was first declared as a part of the Paris program.
With India’s victory, the women’s field of 16 was set and none other than reigning world champion Nicka and home girl Syssy started the round-robin battles.
The USA men's basketball star Bam Adebayo and Snoop Dogg were having a great time in their seat as the stadium rocked like a nightclub. The B-Boys, whose tournament is on Saturday, were all seated around the floor to cheer on their fellow countrymen.
And with that, breaking was off to a fast start in the City of Light.
